Angela Gwinn

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Oakland University. After a 25-year career in Industrial Sales and Marketing, I decided to pursue my passion for helping others through life’s challenges.

I specialize in helping adults and couples with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief, loss and life transitions. Trauma plays a large role in understanding negative patterns in our behavior. It leaves us with the idea that we are doomed to repeat it. Protocols have been developed to help us release the past, then create healthy ways of moving forward with our lives. I use EMDR and IFS to accomplish these goals

Have you ever wished you could find a “reset” button for your life? Or at least a “rerouting” option like our GPS? Counseling helps us take a step back and understand ourselves and our life in a new context. While it does not produce amnesia or erase past negative experiences, it can provide us with new options for our life.

The truth is that everyone faces challenges and adversity; it’s what we do in those moments that determines our course for the future. We can’t go back and change the past. We cannot control the future. What we have is this moment, right now.
