Carolyn G. Maurer, Clinical Director

Carolyn G. Maurer, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT-S is the Clinical Director of Wellspring Counseling Center which she co-founded in 2014 as a ministry of the First Methodist Church of Plano. Dr. Maurer is a member of First Methodist Plano and is President of the Board of Directors of the Wellspring.

Dr. Maurer is the owner of Lifespan Counseling in Plano, Texas, where she practices as a professional counselor and family therapist.  She is licensed as an LPC Supervisor and as an LMFT Supervisor by the State of Texas.

Dr. Maurer earned her doctorate in Counselor Education from the University of Florida in 1976, and has practiced in the field for over 40 years. She has a deep interest in treating anxiety disorders, and is trained in EMDR, cognitive therapy, and hypnotherapy. Dr. Maurer is experienced in child and adolescent counseling, relationship and marital counseling, individual adult counseling, and the supervision of counselors and interns.
